After a night of severe backlash over the decision to suspend internet services across the country, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has withdrawn the initiative.
As per the earlier decision, internet services nationwide were suspended at 8:00 am. But 10 minutes later, the regulatory body backtracked and issued instructions to restore services. It took around 15-20 minutes for the BTRC to rollback the suspension.
Sumon Ahmed Sabir, lead technical official for BTRC, said internet speed is currently normal all over the country.
BTRC Public Relation Officer Jakir hossain confirmed the report, saying a directive has been issued and things will remain normal until further notice.
